Supported file formats
Komoot exports GPX files. Planned routes export without timestamps; recorded activities include them. Either file works in Route Posters — the route shape is what matters for the poster.
Route Posters supports GPX, TCX, FIT, and KML files — the standard formats exported by GPS watches, cycling computers, and fitness platforms.
Step-by-step: from Komoot to a printed poster
- 1
Open the Tour on Komoot
Go to komoot.com or open the Komoot app and navigate to the Tour (recorded activity or planned route) you want to turn into a poster.
- 2
Open the options menu
On the web, click the ⋯ (three-dot) button near the top of the Tour page. In the app, look for a share or export icon.
- 3
Select Export GPX
Choose "Export GPX" or "Download GPX" from the menu. Komoot may export with or without timestamps depending on whether the Tour was recorded live or planned — both versions work in Route Posters.
- 4
Open the Route Posters editor
Navigate to Route Posters and click "Create poster" to launch the editor.
- 5
Drop your GPX file into the editor
Drag and drop the downloaded .gpx file onto the editor. The route is drawn instantly from the track data.
- 6
Customise your poster
Choose your preferred style, map type, and colour palette. Add or adjust the headline text to match your ride or hike.
- 7
Download PNG or print PDF
Export a print-ready PNG or 300 dpi PDF for home printing or a professional print shop.
