Commemorate your ultra with a custom poster

Ultramarathons range from 50 km mountain loops to 330 km non-stop circumnavigations of entire valleys. Whatever the distance, the GPS track in your file holds a record of every kilometre — and Route Posters transforms that into a high-quality wall poster. Upload a GPX, TCX, FIT or KML file exported from Garmin Connect, Strava, Suunto, Coros, Wahoo or any other platform that supports GPS export.

The editor draws your route as a clean, stylised line on a choice of twelve design presets. Dark contour-line backgrounds suit the mountain aesthetics of events like UTMB or Hardrock 100; lighter paper-style themes work well for road ultras like the Comrades Marathon. All design elements — route colour, width, stat layout, headline text — are adjustable. Stats pulled from your file (distance, total time, pace, elevation gain, estimated calories) appear on the poster and can be switched on or off individually.

The PDF export is rendered at 300 dpi on a canvas sized for A3 or A2 printing. Take it to a professional print shop and it will be sharp at any standard poster size. No account, no subscription, no watermark.

How it works

  1. 1

    Export your GPS file

Download a GPX, TCX, FIT or KML file from your GPS device or app after the race. Garmin Connect, Suunto, Coros and Strava all support GPX or FIT export from the activity detail page.

  2. 2

    Design your poster

Upload the file, select a style, adjust the route colour and headline, and choose which stats to display. Everything previews live in the editor.

  3. 3

    Print it

Export a 300 dpi PDF. Take it to any print shop for a sharp A3, A2 or 50×70 cm print.

Frequently asked questions

Can the editor handle GPS files from 100+ mile races?
Yes. Route Posters has no distance limit. Files from 100-mile and multi-day races work the same as a 10K — the full track is loaded and simplified to a clean, readable route line. Larger files (FIT or GPX from multi-day events) may take a few extra seconds to process.
My ultra GPS file is split into multiple segments. Will they join up?
The editor reads all track segments from a single GPX or TCX file and renders them as a continuous route. If your event produced separate daily files, use a free tool such as GPSBabel to merge them into one file before uploading.
Does the elevation stat work for ultra trail races with big climbs?
Yes. Elevation gain is calculated from the GPS track's altitude data. For a race like UTMB with tens of thousands of metres of cumulative gain, the stat displays the full figure as recorded in your file.
