How-to guide

How to make a poster from Suunto

Suunto watches sync your outdoor adventures to the Suunto app and Suunto web service. Each activity can be exported as a GPX or FIT file for use in Route Posters.

Supported file formats

Suunto exports GPX and FIT from the app and web service. Route Posters reads both formats.

Route Posters supports GPX, TCX, FIT, and KML files — the standard formats exported by GPS watches, cycling computers, and fitness platforms.

Step-by-step: from Suunto to a printed poster

  1. 1

Open the Suunto app or web service

Launch the Suunto app on your phone, or visit app.suunto.com in your browser.

  2. 2

    Navigate to the activity

Find the workout, run, or hike you want to use and open its detail page.

  3. 3

    Open the export menu

Look for a share, export, or ⋯ menu option on the activity. The exact wording may differ between app versions — look for "Export" or "Download".

  4. 4

    Choose GPX or FIT

Select GPX or FIT as the export format. Both are supported by Route Posters.

  5. 5

    Open the Route Posters editor

Go to Route Posters and click "Create poster" to open the editor.

  6. 6

    Upload your file

Drag and drop the GPX or FIT file onto the editor. Your route is rendered instantly from the GPS track.

  7. 7

    Customise and download

Choose your style, adjust the layout, and export a high-resolution PNG or 300 dpi print-ready PDF.
