The loop course starts and finishes in Grant Park and tours 29 city neighbourhoods, heading north through Lincoln Park and Lakeview, back through downtown and the Loop, then west and south through areas such as Greektown, Little Italy, Pilsen and Chinatown before returning to Grant Park. It is a very flat, fast course on wide city streets with only minimal elevation change, and it has hosted multiple world records.
