The London Marathon course

The course starts on Blackheath and in Greenwich Park, heads east then loops back west through Woolwich and Greenwich past the Cutty Sark, crosses the Thames at Tower Bridge near the halfway point, runs out around the Isle of Dogs and Canary Wharf, then returns along the Embankment past landmarks such as the London Eye and Big Ben to finish on The Mall near Buckingham Palace. It is a flat and fast road course, with the main quirk being a steep early downhill in the first few miles.
